Long Time
Wow it has been a long time since I was last on here. Life got really busy for a minute. I’m under the weather, drugged up on some good stuff and sitting in my lazy chair. I’m also in the middle of finals, so I honestly should be focusing on that. I blame the drugs for my lack of judgment and priorities. Well I am very disappointed in the Waco movie theaters. I have been waiting anxiously for the movie Atonement to come out. It stars Kiera Knightly and James McAvoy, two of the prettiest people on the planet. The director is also the same one that did Pride and Prejudice a couple of years back with Kiera Knightly as well. I wish I wasn’t in finals otherwise I would be in DFW right this minute watching the movie. Its that good of a movie, to drive all the way to DFW just to see it. It even has Oscar buzz! So I’m a little sad. The Golden Compass also comes out today so if I can manage to put myself together I might drag myself to that one. I’m just a little bitter about Atonement not premiering in Waco.
Well other then that Waco is good. I’m sick as a dog, but getting better. Jaycie and Jack are good. Jack has decided that about 2 a.m. every night it’s time for him to try out his racecar skills by running as fast as he can across my apt. If I wasn’t so sick that first night I would have locked him up in his carrier, but I just didn’t have the energy to catch him. Jaycie was freaking out and didn’t know if she should try and run after him or just stay up on the bed doing circles of her own because it was making her so anxious. Either way it’s been going on for about a week now, about 2 a.m. each night. Also Jack knocked over one of my wine bottles which sat on my cabinet and floor while I was gone to work one day. So that will be a fun stain to try and get rid of. Oh and my favorite part of the week was the vomiting. No not by me, but the kids. In the morning Jack eats like a maniac because he thinks he is starving and will never eat again, so he eats as much and as fast as he can. This means two minutes later it’s all coming up on the floor. Usually I can tell when it’s about to happen and I can put him over a newspaper or paper towel, but not this time! He went all over the rug in the kitchen and then Jaycie decides that her stomach doesn’t feel very good due to the plastic she ate the night before and she goes too, on the same rug. Lovely, I know. And I was the real sick one of the bunch. The other two could have prevented theirs by watching what they ate!
So my last final is a take-home final which I will finish this weekend. Then the next two weeks are work, and then home for Christmas. This semester was fairly good. School was nice, and work was fun. I’m ready for the New Year and school to start back up. Or at least I think so. Maybe not school, but defiantly the New Year and such. I’m excited about bringing Jack to Fritch. I can’t wait to see how he interacts with other cats and how he likes mom and dads big house. I have to give him his leukemia shot first, and I think I’m going to ask about drugging him for the car ride. I did it to Jaycie when I went home for Thanksgiving and it was a blessing. Jaycie was extremely drunk, and just chilled for the entire ride. This is so much nicer than her freaking out, panting heavily and running back and forth for 7 hours. It was the first time I took a long trip like that and didn’t want to kill Jaycie once I reached my destination. So I think Jack will be given the same treatment so I don’t even have to chance him being a bad traveler too. I really hope it snows so Jaycie can play and Jack can see snow. It will be his first time. He will probably hate it, but it will be interesting to see how he takes it. Jaycie on the other hand loves snow, and can’t get enough of it. So I hope it snows, especially over Christmas!
Ok well I’m going to get back to napping and finals. I’ll be better about keeping this thing updated now that things have slowed down. I also have more pictures of kids to put up here. Also pictures of Iazaya that are to die for. He’s so cute!
So everyone be safe this holiday season and have fun!

Grad School
Well I have to admit, I’m a little disappointed in Grad School. Well not disappointed but a little confused. Usually about this time I am calling my parents because I am so stressed out with school, papers, tests, and don’t know how I am going to get it all done. So far this year, I’ve had more free time than I know what to do with. Yet at the same time I stay busy, just not like I though it would be. School is really easy, it’s like a normal undergrad semester, only I have 2 classes. So really it is extremely manageable. I have a term paper and I have to teach a class about Stephen Spielberg. And that’s it really. I have two finals, but one is going to be a take home final. So really I only have one final, and it is not even cumulative. Again I’m not complaining, I’m just really confused. Don’t get me wrong, I love it this way, but I just have this really bad feeling that It is going to get really hard. But until then I like the way things are going. I work more, so that fills the extra time during my day. And I even volunteer every Friday at another museum. So I’m working, going to school and volunteering. And yet it’s all going fairly easy. I guess I could go so far as to say that perhaps I’m just good at what I do, but I’m not that conceited. Haha, I really think I was blessed with an easy semester, which under the circumstances has been nice.
Most of my time is truly spent watching movies. And I was thinking the other day that maybe I’m wasting precious hours of my time, and that I should go and read something instead. But honestly deep down I just love movies and indulging in something that makes me happy isn’t something I’m going to feel bad about. My brother likes motorcycles, my parents like NASCAR, I love movies. So, I will have to admit, that I try to motivate myself with my movies. I come home from work, walk the dog, fix something to eat, and then do my homework as fast as I can so that I can watch a movie before I go to bed. The only problem is that no matter what time I start the movie I will not turn it off to get to bed at a decent hour. I will watch it until it is over. Which can make for some late nights, but again I don’t feel bad about it. One day I hope to have a fabulous Movie collection which will be organized by directors. I’m working on Spielberg right now. I recently watched Empire of the Sun, which is a movie about an English boy who lives in China during WWII, get separated from his parents and is put into a concentration camp. It is an amazing movie, not well received at the time it went out, but defiantly a must see. Christian Bail stars as the little boy, and it is funny to see him so young, but he did a fabulous job, and received a few awards for his performance. I am trying to watch as many of his movies as possible before my lecture. I’ve seen most of his movies, but I need to refresh my mind, and of course catch up on some of his really early films. IMDB.com is the best place that I have found so far that gives good synopses of movies, directors, and actors. It also has a fabulous All Time list of movies.
I’m really excited because Spider-Man III comes out on Tuesday. I really hated the movie, but I need it for my future collection. Really, it was the worse of all the three, but there is hope because there are talks that Spider-Man IV is in pre-production. Hopefully it all works out. Even though I did not like it as well, I am still excited to buy it. Spider-Man is one of my favorite movies. I’m sucker for any Marvel comic book stories.
I bought Transformers last week. It is actually in a DVD case that transforms into a robot. Optimus Prime to be exact. I’m going to actually use it in my Spielberg presentation because he was the executive producer for the movie. Plus I think my classmates will get a kick out of the transforming case! For any of you out there that were planning on buying the DVD, I got mine at Target, and it was a few dollars more than the regular DVD, it is totally worth it! Plus it comes with a disk II with DVD extras.
If any of you out there want a movie recommendation just ask! I’ve really been doing my homework on this stuff. I watch about 5 movies a week, and sometime just in the weekend alone! But no worries mom and dad my grade as still fine!

Jaycie, Jack and the God Father
I thought I would share some fabulous pictures I have of Jaycie and Jack. They make me laugh each time I look at them. Ok First one is Jack up on his post that Dad made him. He loves this thing, and it is usually where I find him when I get home from work.
Ok the next few are him being silly, playing, and sleeping. The last one is hard to see but he's trying to eat my toes.
Ok now these are the really funny ones. First we have Jack sleeping on Jaycie's bed because he can, and then we have Jaycie being upset so she goes and sleeps on Jack's bed.
So Yes I may be a little proud of my pets but they keep me entertained and sane.
Yesterday I found the God Father DVD collection that I have been scoping out for a while. The best deal I could find was on Amazon.com and it was $30. Well then I decided to look on Ebay which I never do and found one that was at $20 with an hour to go. Well I have never let myself open up an Ebay account because I know it will just get me into trouble so instead I called Dad and asked if I could use his. So I made my bid and sat behind my computer and counted down the hour. And low and behold I WON! I’m so excited. Now I know why it’s addicting to shop on Ebay because you just love having the screen say “Congratulations you are the highest bidder. You’ve Won!” No worries, I closed the screen out as soon as Dad confirmed the paypal thing. I have been wanting this collection for a while. I love Francis Ford Coppola, and his daughter. They are two of my favorite directors. I also want to read the books behind the God Father. I’ll put that on my list right behind the Harry Potter books that MB just gave me for my Bday. The whole set minus the last book. That’s thousands of pages right there. I probably will never finish them till I’m 50. But hey it’s something to look forward to.
Well I’m going to go back to Blockbuster and get some more movies. (they were closed when I went this morning L) Then finish up some reading and get ready for a fabulous new week.

Next picture is Jack watching TV. I love that he loves to watch good ol' Television.

First Blog Ever!
Well hello there!
I'm writing this blog and many to come in order to keep all of my family and friends updated on my life. So many of you are far away and it is hard to stay in touch with everyone, therefore I'm just going to write it down once and everyone can read it. Hopefully this helps me stay in touch with the people I care about.
We can all thank Mary Beth, also MB, my friends and co-worker for entering me into this world of Blogging. The Dr Pepper museum really utilizes blogs to reach their fans and MB also has one of her own and there have been times where something fantastic happens and she says "I'm going to have to blog about this". In fact she has even talked about me before in her own blogs. So thats really what got me thinking about having my own. Also I had told Janet that I would write her a long time ago and since I kept putting it off, I figured that this would be a fabulous way to stay in touch with the people that are extremly far away! Janet you win on the distance, Your the only one of my friends that is currently out of the country, China. Yah! you win on that one.
Well basically I've started my frist year of Grad School. I'm really surprised at how smoothy it is going but thats the main reason why I decided to stay at Baylor and choose the program that I did. I'm American Studies right now and plan to graduate in 2009. Then hopefully go on to have some fantastic job in a fantastic place that I just love and everyone can come and visit.
I also made an addition to my household. I adopted Jack "Vito" the cat from Fuzzy Friends in Waco. He is an orange tabby and he was found on the side of the road one day. When we meet it was love at first sight, he was so timid and shy. Then I brought him home and he immediatly took a massive dump in the litter box, ate all the food in his bowl, and took a nap. So needless to say he made himself right at home. He is still very very shy around other people. He usually hides the entire time people are at my house. He does not like boys at all, which makes me think he has some bad experiences with men in his life. He is also a little devil at times. He loves to chew on shoes (which btw Jaycie never did and knows better anyway!), he likes to take the cords from my bath robes and drag them around the house, he likes to run as fast as he can, attack Jaycie, and then get on something where Jaycie can't get to him and tease her. He is also a big eater. That is the only time he ever talks is when he's hungry and then he cries like a baby and stands in front of the closet where he food is. I think he still thinks that the food in his bowl is the only food he'll eat for a while and so he gorges himself on food, but he is getting better. The more he eats the more he poos and it crazy how much food can go through that small a cat.
Jaycie is still very jealous and I knew she would be. The reason why I got Jack was to keep her company while I'm at work and school all day. My classes worked out where I'm usually gone 8 to 5 everyday and thats a long time for Jaycie to sit around and do nothing. So she gets along with Jack, but she is very serious about me not giving Jack much attention when she is around. The good thing is that Jack loves Jaycie more then he does me. He likes to sleep with her, play with her, and follow her around and really could care less about me. Just as long as I keep the food and water bowl full, he's content and happy to be with Jaycie.
So the kids are good, though it does feel like I'm in a zoo somethings, it keeps me entertained.
Recently I have made two large purchases. The first was a new set of cookware from Bed Bath and Beyond. My first set was $20 from Wal-mart and it lasted me 3 years, but it was so worn that it was hard to cook with it. So I upgraded to Invitations, at Bed Bath and Beyond and got one hell of deal. I got 8 pieces plus 4 more. So I got the big bowl for pasta, the 2 different size sauce pans, the skillet and the lids to all the pans. Additionally I got a new cake pan with plastic lid, a rot iron skillet, and utensils that help protect the non stick surface. Plus a rebate! Then I bought a gianormous Skillet that is like 12" with a lid and 2 handles, one on each side.

I am so very excited to use it!!! I figured it would be good to make Hamburger Helper in because it won't spill over. My old skillet was so small that when I went to stir the H. Helper it would always spill over the edges.

My next purchase was something that I have been wanting to buy for a long time. It was a leather bag. And it is lovely! I also got a matching planner that goes with it. It came from Franklin Covey, which is also great because it is a good comapany that helps you organize and manage your life. So I feel so fashionable and professional at the same time. The leather is oh so very soft and it is a neutral off-white that will go great for all seaons. I have to say I did not plan on making this purchase but one of my co-workers Sammy (Cha Cha) left the franklin covey website up on my computer and I got to browsing and found my fabulous bag and planner on SALE and it was one of those things that you could not pass up. Go check it out at http://www.franklincovey.com/
